“Over the last few decades my involvement with endurance sports such as running, cycling, high-altitude mountaineering and military service as a paratrooper and ranger have made me realize that my passion for this type of physical activity has evolved from being a hobby to becoming a lifestyle. I've come to recognize my true desire to pass on some of that passion for physical fitness and training to others, particularly older adults.” “My exercise philosophy is a commitment to lifestyle wellness and functional fitness, endurance, flexibility and strength.”

Daniel Weiss - BS, CSCS, ACE (AKA “Dan the Man with the Workout Plan”)

“For me, it’s amazingly interesting to see the body’s ability to be pushed to accomplish things that you never thought were possible. To witness the body, an intricate organic form that has evolved over millions of years, triumph over apparently insurmountable athletic obstacles is incredibly compelling. With a balance between body and mind, the body is capable of more than any one person can imagine. The potential is almost limitless. This is what inspires me.”

Life:
Dan grew up around athletics. Prior to college, Dan was an avid downhill skier and soccer player. He competed in downhill skiing on a national level, training with Olympic skiers such as Julia Mancuso and Tamara McKinney. He competed in Junior Olympics in Jackson, WY, at the age of 14. Upon entering college, Dan began climbing and all other sports took a back seat. For years, he has been passionately pursuing climbing, in all its forms, taking him from the glaciated, snow covered volcanoes of the Cascade Mountains to the impressive rock walls of the Sierra Mountains, to the intimidating, knife-edged peaks of the European Alps.

Dan graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Fitness, Nutrition and Health. The combination of Dan’s years in athletics coupled with his university studies, experience and an unquenched thirst to absorb as much information about strength and conditioning as possible has given him the tools and knowledge necessary to design and implement exceptional strength and conditioning programs designed to take you farther, faster and higher.

Credentials/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University
  • Currently working on a Master's Degree in Exercise Science from San Diego State University
  • Internship with Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego, CA. Owned by Todd Durkin, MA CSCS NCTMB. Home to many professional athletes including NFL stars LaDanian Tomlinson, Drew Brees and many others.
  • Intern with Ken Nicodemus at FitStop Lab in Carlsbad, CA working on a study investigating the effects of a new fluid supplement on athletic endurance performance.
